CYC COVID-19 Operating Procedures

CYC Guidelines – Updated 2/17/21, all updates highlighted in red and dated

CYC is cooperating with local health departments throughout St. Louis/St. Charles region to ensure we are providing a safe basketball experience for our players, officials, volunteers, and spectators.  In order to do this, we felt it best to postpone the opening of the basketball season until January 11 for the start of practices and January 22 for the start of games.  CYC is working with our 5 districts to confirm each of our parish gyms will be able to safely host practices and games.

At this time:

Basketball

  • Masks are to be worn by all players, coaches, officials, and scorekeepers during an entire game or practice
  • 2 spectators per player are allowed.  CYC Parishes/Member Organizations reserve the right to limit the total number of spectators allowed to less than 1 or 2 per player if needed due to gym size.  Please click here to see a list of gyms where capacity is limited. (Updated 2/11/21)
  • The season will play through spring breaks in most districts and the possibility of playoffs would most likely be after Easter in April
  • As of 2/17, parishes are now allowed to host tournaments.  Please submit for review your COVID-19 safety protocols to Dan Fitzgerald.  Once approved we will post your tournament on the CYC upcoming tournaments page. (Updated 2/17/21)

Thank you for your patience and understanding.  Please look for updates in the coming weeks.
