How do I register?

Registration for our chess program can be done two ways.  You can either join a team through a participating parish/school or register individually with the CYC office for a meet by clicking here. Most parishes open registration in late September. To find out what parishes or schools already participate in CYC Chess, click here.

When is the chess season?

The CYC Chess season runs from December through March. The standard schedule is 4 qualifying meets and a championship meet for the top 10 qualifiers from each age group at each meet.  CYC Chess Meet dates for the 2019-20 season are 12/7, 1/11, 2/1, and 2/22.

When is the Championship Meet?

The top 10 qualifiers in each age group from each meet will be invited to participate at the Archdiocesan Chess Championship meet is February 29, 2019 at CBC High School.

During the regular sports season, you have the opportunity to play for leagues organized by the regional district that your church or school is located in. For any information about playing for a CYC Sports team, you should reach out to the district that you live in.

Registration & Entry Fee: Advanced registration is required for teams and individual players by Wednesday, 2/19 at 5 p.m.  The entry fee is $10 per player.  To register and pay online for individual participants, click here.

ALL PLAYERS MUST CHECK-IN ON-SITE BEFORE 8:30 A.M. TO BE PAIRED FOR THE FIRST MATCH
